Well ladies and gents, here it is, our newest soapers helper.
Ü We are proud to present to you our TLC Soap Jeweler™. You can now
jewel the edges of your soaps with ease. Take a look at the pics below
and the descriptions with them. We hope that you find this new helper
useful in making your soap for you family, friends or in your soapmaking
business.
In the first pic you can see the blade used to jewel the edges
of the soap. In the second pic you see how Eddie pushes the soap over
the blade to get the sharp edge off the soap. The soap must be laid flat
against one of the sides of the angle pieces to get the corners.
In the next pic you see the soap after it has been jeweled, no
more sharp edges. We do find that sometimes it will not jewel a corner
or 2 if the soap is not flat enough on one side. But I just put these
aside till I get my whole batch done and go back and use the potato
peeler to shave the corner off.
The next pic shows how the shavings from the soap are collected
in a bowl that you place under the TLC Soap Jeweler™. I take these and
save them in a heavy duty zip bag or in a bowl with a good lid and make
soap balls from them or add them to a batch of soap later. Or do a
hodgpodg soap with them. Amazing the fragrance that can come from
several different scents in a handmilled bar from the shavings off the
soap. Ü
Here is a comparison shot to show the difference in the look of
the cut bar and a jeweled one. If you have every held a bar that had the
edges jeweled, you know the difference in the comfort of the bar and
the ease of use if soaping up a wash cloth. The last pic shows a small
bar and a large bar that have been jeweled.
